Chariots of Fire 5k Beach Race donates £5,790 to Worldwide Cancer Research
Back for the 7th year, The Chariots of Fire 5k Beach Race was held on Sunday 4th June 2017 and welcomed everyone from club to first time runner as a way to bring the community together in a stunning cinematic setting. Local business support was fantastic – every adult who finished received a free locally-brewed bottle of beer, the legendary Fisher and Donaldson fudge doughnut and a medal. Every child received a Jannettas Gelaterie ice cream.
Matt Ingledow, Fundraiser at Worldwide Cancer Research, said: “On behalf of the charity, I would like to thank everyone who helped raise this fantastic total for Worldwide Cancer Research. The sponsors, suppliers, crowds on the day and of course the runners were all so dedicated. It was a brilliant event for the whole community to get behind.
“The money raised will go towards funding life-saving cancer research projects across the world, now and in the future.”
