Chris takes the long way home
Australian teacher Chris Gruar, who rode 45,000km around the world on a bike cycled into Sydney to complete his epic journey and raised AUS$30,000 for Worldwide Cancer Research in memory of his mother who died of cancer.
Riding unsupported, Chris travelled across more than 40 countries including Germany, Norway, Croatia, Kazakhstan, Kosovo, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, China and Vietnam. The teacher left Leeds in the north east of England back in March 2012 and completed the final leg of his journey through Australia in June when he arrived at the University of Sydney. We've just received this footage of his emotional arrival.
Chris is still hoping to raise more money for this cause that’s so close to his heart, and for which he has personally committed so much.
