The search for the best cancer research in the world
Since our foundation in 1979, we have invested in nearly two thousand research projects from top scientists in world-renowned institutions all over the globe. Many of these projects have already improved the lives of people with cancer, and others are being developed into new tools for diagnosis and treatment. But these are difficult economic times and the demand and competition for funding has never been so tough. Hard funding decisions are made on the basis of scientific quality, innovation and the belief that the researchers can deliver on their ambitious proposals. No matter how groundbreaking these projects might be, we can’t say yes to them all. We simply do not have the funds.
In order to keep the quality of our research as high as we can, we ask that potential grantholders only submit projects, which meet our requirements. To make this process as simple as possible, we would ask all applicants to read through the following information before making an application.
Our next grant round is scheduled to open online on 16 March 2018, with the submission window opening 29 March and the submission deadline being 5pm UK time on Friday 27 April 2018. Please note that restrictions will be in place and Worldwide Cancer Research will only accept the first 500 applications submitted in the grant round. Applicants in the April 2017 grant round, whose applications failed to pass the preliminary triage review stage, will be unable to apply in the April 2018 grant round. Additionally, those projects cannot be submitted by another lead applicant. The following grant round is planned for Spring 2019.
