The search for the best cancer research in the world
Since our foundation in 1979, we have invested in nearly two thousand research projects from top scientists in world-renowned institutions all over the globe. Many of these projects have already improved the lives of people with cancer, and others are being developed into new tools for diagnosis and treatment. But these are difficult economic times and the demand and competition for funding has never been so tough. Hard funding decisions are made on the basis of scientific quality, innovation and the belief that the researchers can deliver on their ambitious proposals. No matter how groundbreaking these projects might be, we can’t say yes to them all. We simply do not have the funds.
In order to keep the quality of our research as high as we can, we ask that potential grantholders only submit projects, which meet our requirements. To make this process as simple as possible, we would ask all applicants to read through the following information before making an application.
We plan to open the next grant round in March 2017, with a proposed submission deadline of 21st April, but we need the Charity's Board of Trustees approval first. The Board meets in early March to make its decision and we will update our website in mid-March 2017 to confirm the details of the next grant round.
