What do you love about working in cancer research?

17th May 2022

Have you ever thought about a career in research? Professor Kevin Hiom, a member of our Board of Trustees and researcher, shares why working in cancer research is so important to him.

Kevin Hiom is Professor of Cancer Biology and Head of the Division of Cellular Medicine in the School of Medicine at the University of Dundee.

Kevin’s research focuses on how cells repair damage to their genetic material, DNA, and how when this goes wrong it can lead to cancer. He also looks at how these defects in DNA repair can be exploited to kill cancer cells as treatments for cancer patients.

Since 1999 Kevin has been awarded several grants from Worldwide Cancer Research and has also been a member of their Science Advisory committee.
